Oral Surgery Procedures
Wisdom Tooth Extraction
The wisdom teeth are the third set of molars that erupt in the late teens and early 20s. Often, these teeth pose significant issues.
Impacted wisdom teeth, trapped beneath soft or hard tissue, can damage adjacent teeth. In other cases, patients simply do not have enough space in their dental arch for wisdom teeth to erupt. They can also cause other teeth to shift out of place, reversing the effects of orthodontic work.
We typically recommend removing wisdom teeth before they become a problem. We are able to perform simple and complex wisdom tooth removal depending on the position of your teeth.
Impacted Canine Extraction
The canines exist on either side of your front four teeth. They are relatively long and pointed. If your canines are trapped beneath your gumline, we can perform canine extraction to promote normal tooth development. This can improve the overall health and appearance of your smile.
Apicoectomy
When non-surgical root canal therapy does not entirely remove an infection from the tooth roots, we may perform an apicoectomy at our Mesa, AZ, practice. This procedure allows us to remove the root tip without extracting the entire tooth.
Bone Grafting
A bone graft is used to address bone loss caused by gum disease, trauma, or tooth loss. Augmenting your jawbone can restore your candidacy for dental implants.
Dental Implants
If you are missing teeth, we can perform oral surgery to place the dental implant posts. These posts are embedded in the jaw and can provide a strong foundation for dental crowns, bridges, or dentures. Dental implants are the only tooth replacement solution that can protect the strength and integrity of your jawbone.
We offer many types of implant and restoration options, including the All-on-4® system and hybrid dentures.
Oral Pathology
In addition to a visual oral cancer screening, we can perform a biopsy to diagnose abnormalities. Using the information from your biopsy, we can identify cancers and diseases that may not be detectable with traditional screening.
TMJ Disorder Treatment
For patients suffering from TMJ disorder, we may recommend an oral appliance or BOTOX® injections to help alleviate painful symptoms. More severe cases may require TMJ surgery. If surgery is the best option for you, we can refer you to a specialist and oversee treatment.
For especially complex procedures, we can coordinate treatment with some of the most skilled specialists in the area.
See Why Patients Love Las Sendas Dental Health
As a patient of Las Sendas Dental Health, I am impressed by the friendly administrative team, the comfortable waiting room, and the patient amenities. The investment that the practice’s dentists have made in dental care technology, and the professional expertise of my hygienist Taryn, gives me the confidence that I’m receiving first-rate care.
View on GoogleWhat an AMAZING practice. In my 48 years, I have never experienced a dental practice of this magnitude. They spent 2.5 hours thoroughly going through my first exam. They took x-rays, pictures and even a mini-catscan of my jaw. The office is beautiful and staff is very friendly. They even brought me a bottle of water at one point..... I would give this practice 10 stars if I could!!!!!
